MixedMonthly.com 09 launch!

Hey Friends,

Well this post is my first of many for the 09 Calendar. I guess I will start off with some past years reflection. MixedMonthly.com has been overall a wonderful journey and learning experience. I have come to understand the true power of the web and open source and exactlly how it can be used to benefit society and my personal community. Although I am sure everyone is going to mark this year as some great year of hope and change. I do truly feel that we are on the verge of something new and different. That overall is the reason that we have continued to work in spite of all the major setbacks we have experienced in the pursuit of; initially what was just an idea to give a new voice in the media and the world beyond.

So i guess its not too corny or cheesy to say we do believe in hope and change and we want to be catalyst and supporters of this hope and change. in 2008 open source made its largest victory ever with the success of the Obama web 2.0, open source campaign and it showed that people do want to embark on new paths and technology when used properly can be a excellent tool in the process.

With the end of TV in America as we know it we too want to be part of this wave of digital enhancement and also be a new voice and option for people. So with all that said I just want to introduce myself and my digital media family. My name is Kevin Luster and I am the founder of MixedMonthly.com we are a new digital media channel. What that means in essence is that we are a channel in all the traditional senses that you have come to know and understand for your experiences with tv and radio; but we are strictly digital meaning online on your phone and wherever else you can get a web connection( which according to the guy on Oprah your refrigerator and house will soon be able to order more milk when you get low…kinda scary but that is the wave of the future). My family includes a bunch of websites, art pieces, production pieces and other cool media media we want to share with the world. So visit our sites daily like 8,000 hits a day until the point that your boss bans our sites from the office network.

I find that people have such limited choices when it comes to their media that I just wanted to be an alternative. I didn’t want to build something that could be labeled as this or that hence why we choose our name and our moto Mixed Monthly. We have been some years in the making and really want to make an impact and impression upon the minds and audiences of today and the future….

With all that said I’m not trying to fool you to believe that my views as founder and a producer on my channel are in any way going to be whatever I just think i have a special perspective that I want to share and I am hoping to find and connect with an audience of people who can appreciate and enjoy what we have to offer.
